Westfriesland, United Netherlands, "lion" daalder, 1622, ex-Christie's (1983), ex-Jaggers. KM-14.5. 27.15 grams. High grade (actually lustrous) and corrosion-free (UNC details), the knight side polished and toned, with full legends and inner details but penultimate digit of date weak, desirable for its very rare provenance. Pedigreed to Christie's (Amsterdam) auction of March 1983 (lot 514) and to the Tony Jaggers collection, with his photo-certificate. Recovered from: Piet Heyn's Hollandia, sunk in 1627 off Bay of All Saints, Brazil. (NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE SAME HOLLANDIA THAT SANK OFF ISLES OF SCILLY, ENGLAND, IN 1743.)
